ProtocolGT (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ProtocolGT mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect user data.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of data when you use the App:

This information is used to create and manage your account and enable core app functionality. We do not share or sell any PII with any third-parties. Users can optionally join a leaderboard where their name is viewable by any app user. Our development and business team may view PII about users for troubleshooting and app development. Users can toggle whether they would like to receive marketing emails about Protocol Grip Trainer when they enter their email. If users choose to receive marketing emails, they can click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email to stop receiving marketing emails from us. We will not allow any third party to send you marketing emails.

If birthdate and gender are optionally entered, we use them to calculate users’ grip strength percentiles. We do not share or sell any demographic information with third parties, but if a user chooses to join a shared party, others could be able to view the user’s age group (10-year age range) and gender. We also may use age and gender to personalize our notifications and marketing emails. We use age and gender for business analytics and troubleshooting.
c. Fitness and Activity Data

Fitness data is associated with your account to provide personalized functionality and progress tracking.

This information is never stored - neither on your device nor on a server. Our app may use this data to make payments and interact with physical Bluetooth devices.

3. Data Storage and Security
User data is securely stored using cloud infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS), including:

All data:

Is encrypted in transit using TLS

Is encrypted at rest using AWS-managed encryption
AWS acts solely as a data processor on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes.
We also use Google Analytics to analyze how users respond to our app. We store fitness, click, and demographic data in Google Analytics. We do not store any PII on Google Analytics. We do not sell your data or engage in targeted advertising.
We use Sentry for debugging and analytics.

We may use fitness data to:

Share these datasets after removing any links to PII
Before being used for these purposes:

Personally identifiable information including email addresses, names, and phone numbers are removed,

We may use randomly generated user identifiers to associate a user’s workouts with each other.

We may associate the fitness data with demographic data (age and gender).

On requesting account deletion, any internal associations between personally identifiable information and the user identifiers will be deleted.
Fitness data may be retained indefinitely for research purposes.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell any personally identifiable information to any third-party. Users may choose to allow us to share their first name, age group, and gender with other users by joining a shared party.

The first name, age group, and gender are optionally viewable by other app users.

If the user chooses to join a leaderboard, others might be able to deduce the user’s age group and gender by reversing our grip percentile calculation.

7. Account Deletion and Data Removal
Users may request deletion of their account and all associated personal data by pressing the ‘Delete Account’ button within the app or by contacting us at:
